The Rockwood Sports Bar will be one of the many attractions being made in the Gainesville area. Spend a day with your family watching a movie at the Regal Cinema and eating at MOD Pizza. A pamper day with your girlfriends at Bubble Salon, Francesca’s Collection and Nando’s Peri-Peri Chicken. A sports day with your guys bouncing around from Buffalo Wild Wings, B.J’s Restaurant & Brewhouse and eventually the new Rockwood Sports Bar.
A new restaurant is slated to open in the Virginia Gateway Shopping Center in Gainesville! Chef and restaurateur Mike Cordero is scheduled to open the Rockwood Sports Bar in the space where the Ruby Tuesday’s used to reside in. It will have an outdoor BBQ vibe where you can relax with friends featuring two outdoor patios. It will be able to hold 400 guests and include LED TVs, modern technology and sound. It’ll also include an indoor/outdoor bar, garage doors, fire pits, a beer garden and games such as cornhole and a giant Jenga.
Cordero announced the future opening of the bar on his Instagram on September 25th. It will be designed by featued HGTV Interior Designer Yvette Irene. Cordero has been in the restaurant business for around 40 years and has opened restaurants in Northern Virginia such as Barley Mac, Don Taco, Don Tito and Primetime Sports Bar & Grill. His new sports bar is joining the several restaurants around the area, including B.J’s Restaurant & Brewhouse, Grafton Street, Uncle Julios and Firebird’s Wood Fired Grill.
