The Swede Team not only cares about our clients, we also care about helping others. Through programs with Keller Williams and independently, The Swede Team has volunteered to help those in need and the environment in any way we can.

Mega Relief Camp

In September 2017 Keller Williams was scheduled to have their annual Mega Camp, a training camp for all KW agents around the world, in Austin Texas. However, Hurricane Harvey hit the week before this event, and in the span of that week they decided to turn Mega Camp into Mega Relief Camp. Mega Relief Camp consisted of having any agent who still wanted to come to Austin help victims of Hurricane Harvey instead of having training sessions. 3,837 KW agents jumped at the opportunity to help those affected by the Hurricane, including The Swede Team’s own Team Leader, Howard Swede.

Howard flew down to Austin, Texas on September 11, and spent a week helping out in various ways. On Day 1, Howard started his day helping out at the Austin Disaster Relief Center. There he helped fill in the giant potholes in the parking lot so victims could get into the center. He also helped load and unload trucks and trailers with ingoing and outgoing donations. In the afternoon on his first day there, Howard volunteered at the Central Texas Food Bank, a 135,000 foot facility, and him along with other KW agents were able to provide 13,460 meals to the victims of Harvey.

On Day 2, Howard helped create over 1,000 emergency relief comfort kits which were sent on buses to Houston. He also helped to unload 500 fans and 1,000 comfort kits which needed to be restored. On Day 3, Howard  helped out at the Austin Food Bank helping to package breakfast and dinner meals that would be sent out to different shelters. Howard along with other KW agents packaged 8,375 meals! In the evening Howard again helped to load comfort kits onto buses to be sent to   Houston.

Back at home, while Howard was volunteering in Austin, the rest of The Swede Team were helping to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Harvey by selling red Hurricane relief bracelets. We were able to raise over $1,000.00 to help people affected by the Hurricane!

Adopt a Highway

The Swede Team has adopted Heathcote Boulevard in Gainesville, VA! This means that we make sure the sides of this road are kept clear of litter, by periodically conducting road side trash pickups. Our latest pickup was on Earth Day this 2018 where we had a total of 12 volunteers to help us pick up trash on the side of Heathcote Blvd.

The Swede Team is among the nearly 18,000 Adopt-a-Highway volunteers in Virginia who have collected more than 25,600 bags of waste along Virginia highways.
We are happy to help clean up our environment!

Purple Stride

Pancreatic Cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S.,  killing more people than breast cancer.  The Swede Team attends the annual 5K run/walk —Purple Stride event in Washington D.C. to help raise funds for the fight against Pancreatic Cancer. Purple Stride has a goal to double the survival rate by 2020. The Swede Team is proud to be a part of Wage Hope, and is consistently caring, donating & fighting for those with Pancreatic Cancer. We Thank you to everyone that donated to our cause, and to everyone that joined us for the walk, we really appreciate everyone's support!

KW Red Day

RED Day, which stands for Renew, Energize and Donate, is our annual day of service. Each year on the second Thursday of May, we celebrate RED Day as a part of our legacy worth leaving. Making a difference in the lives of others and bettering the communities that we serve lies at the heart of the Keller Williams culture. This observance defines who we are and is a natural extension of our commitment to the highest level of professional customer service.

Our KW Red Day happened on two separate days. Our market center hosted their 1st Annual KW Red Day Cornhole Tournament at the wonderful Farm Brew Live/2 Silos Brewing. The Swede Team Superstars consisted of Howard and our friend & fellow agent Royce. The Swede Team won while also fundraising over $500 for various different charities. On the actual KW Red Day, The Swede Team had a great time participating planting flowers at the Bull Run Warrior Retreat. We loved it so much and can't wait to do it next year!
